WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?

Our style has been described as natural and relaxed by our clients.  We like to produce images that capture the real essence of your wedding day: that really tell the story of the day and bring back all the emotions you felt.  The best way to get a sense of our style is to look through some examples of our work.

HOW DO YOU WORK ON A WEDDING DAY?

For most of the day we ‘go with the flow’, capturing all the big and little moments of your wedding as they happen in a candid and unobtrusive fashion.  At some point during the day we will briefly sneak you away so we can create some natural, relaxed images of just the two of you.  We are also happy to set up and take any formal group shots of your families and friends that you want.  We think it’s really important that having us there photographing your wedding enhances your enjoyment of the day rather than detracts from it, and we take great pride in the fact that even our most camera shy wedding couples have told us that we’ve more than achieved that.  You can read more about what people say about us here.

DO YOU ALWAYS PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS TOGETHER?

Yes we do.  A lot happens on a wedding day and we find working as a pair results enables much better coverage of your wedding.  For instance,  Sarah can be photographing the bridal preparations whilst Mark is at the ceremony venue capturing the groom and guests arriving and interacting.  We also find that working together means we can be less obtrusive as we can take photographs of important parts of the day such as the ceremony and speeches from different perspectives without the distraction of moving around.

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

We believe in using only the very best professional photographic equipment in our work and have invested heavily to this effect.  We use Nikon gear including professional full frame digital SLRs, numerous professional lenses (including zooms for unobtrusive shots, fast primes perfect for low light shots and a macro for close up detail shots), mobile lighting equipment and monopods and tripods.

HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL TO PHOTOGRAPH A WEDDING?

We are based in the North East of England and so many of the weddings we photograph take place in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham.  However, we are more than happy to travel throughout the rest of the UK for weddings too.  For weddings in the North East, our travel costs are included in our wedding photography package prices.  For weddings further afield, our travel (and potentially accommodation) costs will need to be covered.  Please contact us for an individual quote for this if applicable.  As we have family and friends in many parts of the UK who we love an excuse to go stay with, we rarely need to charge for accommodation.

DO YOU OFFER PRE WEDDING SHOOTS?

We offer pre wedding engagement sessions as a optional add-on to our wedding packages.  Pre wedding shoots are usually planned to take place a few months before your wedding at either your wedding venue, the Newcastle-Gateshead Quayside or another location in the Tyne and Wear area that has special meaning for you both.  If one or both of you considers yourself camera shy then a pre wedding shoot provides a great opportunity for you to get used to being photographed by us before your big day itself.  If you already love having your picture taken then it’s just a great opportunity to get some gorgeous photographs of the two of you at a time when you’ve got the luxury of focusing on that alone.  For us it’s a great opportunity to get to know you even better, demonstrate how we work and show just how great you can look in the images we take.  And it’s good fun!

SHOULD WE MEET YOU BEFORE WE BOOK?

It’s completely up to you!  Whilst some of our couples book us after chatting by email or phone, especially those who are based further afield, others want to meet in person before making a decision.  We love hearing about wedding plans and talking about wedding photography and so we are more than happy to arrange to meet up with you in Newcastle or Gateshead for a coffee and chat without any obligation to book.

HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT?

A £300 deposit is required to confirm a booking and the remaining balance is due 28 days before your wedding.
